We have just returned from a fun family reunion in beautiful McCall, Idaho. About 22 of us gathered at the cabin of Jarrett's aunt & uncle. We played on the beach of Cascade Lake, went up the chair lift, had ice cream in McCall, and went boating and jet skiing. In addition we ate some great food, played fun games and visited and laughed with great people. We always look forward to this reunion - see you again in 2010!

Soccer Tournament - by Tristan
My first soccer tournament was hard work! In our first game we beat Crossfire 4-1. Crossfire was a team that's coached by professionals. So we felt good by winning. Later that day we played a tougher team. At the end of the first half we were losing, then we came back and won, 2-1! After that we went home to get a good night's sleep. The next day we won 8-1 and then lost 8-1 in the semi-finals. We did good in that tournament.
(Mom adds - Tristan scored 3 goals in the first 2 games. He usually plays mid-fielder.)
Here's Karina "watching" the 2nd game on Friday - it was 80+ degrees outside.
Tristan in his fancy warm-ups and soccer backpack, complete with lucky #13 embroidered on.

Blue Tarp Camping

There is a commercial that plays in our area that pretty much summarizes our recent camping trip for July 4th weekend. Watch this and see how we camp up here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpfcO4Yfw44
That was day 2 of our camping trip, which we cut a little short, deciding one more night in a (wet) tent was not really necessary. (Good thing, too - Karina ended up having the stomach flu overnight!)
Day 1 was the 4th of July. While we saw very little sunshine, we also had very little rain, so we made the best of it with some boating, a great dinner and s'mores by the campfire. The kids were a little disappointed in the fact that you can't do fireworks in a forest, but we made the best of it with lots of pop-its.

Swimming Lessons - by Tristan

I loved my swim lessons! In swim lessons you do a lot of swimming. One time we had to do 300 yds. of swimming! Swim lessons was 1o days of swimming Mon.- Fri. Each day we do 50 yds. of kick and 50 yds. of the arm part of the crawlstroke. Or we just do 100yds. of crawlstroke. But the day when we did 300yds. was a special day. But for 10 days we don't just do crawlstroke. We do dives, kickflips, and freestyle off the divingboard. For those 10 days the lessons are 25 minutes, but in those 25 minutes we learn so much! So if you live anywhere close to us, try those swim lessons, THEY'RE THE BEST!!!!!

Jumping on the Blog Bandwagon
I love reading the blogs of my friends and family. It's so much better than the yearly Christmas card in keeping up with each other! I thought it was time to start our own blog. Hopefully, it will be a great summer project for the kids and I. Hope you enjoy!
